Northern Colorado Trees Feel Weight of Spring Snowstorm

Snow-damaged trees in Fort Collins, May 2017FORT COLLINS, Colo. – A mid-May winter storm battered the northern Colorado Front Range with several inches of wet snow, threatening many urban trees, especially in Fort Collins.

Several storms have passed through the Colorado Front Range this spring, with subsequent damage to trees occurring from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs.

The storms are a good reminder that residents should exercise extreme caution when dealing with snow-damaged trees.
