Upper Gunnison River Basin

The Upper Gunnison River Basin is bounded by the San Juan Mountains to the south; Cimarron Ridge and Black Canyon to the west; the West Elk Mountains to the north; and the Continental Divide to the south. The basin includes portions of Delta, Montrose, Gunnison, and Hinsdale counties. Communities include Gunnison, Lake City, Cimarron, Maher, and Crawford. Although Montrose District works directly with some of the basin area, it is mostly covered by foresters from the Gunnison District.
