Steamboat Springs District: Serving Jackson, Moffat
and Routt Counties

The Steamboat Springs District of the Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS) is one of 17 districts located throughout Colorado. We are a division of Colorado State University, with our headquarters located on the Foothills Campus in Fort Collins.

The Steamboat Springs District Office is currently staffed by four full-time foresters, an inventory forester responsible for conducting the Forest Inventory and Analysis program in northwestern Colorado, and an administrative assistant. Three of our foresters are responsible for forest management activities at the State Forest.

Our mission is to provide for the stewardship of forest resources and to reduce related risks to life, property and the environment for the benefit of present and future generations.
