The Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS) seedling tree program enables farmers, ranchers and other landowners to buy seedling trees at a nominal cost.

Seedling Tree Information

a Box of SeedlingsThe Trees for Conservation Program sells seedlings for conservation plantings to landowners at production cost. Foresters are available to answer questions about tree planting.

The program is designed to encourage landowners to plant effective wind barriers to protect buildings, cropland and feedlots, help prevent erosion, enhance wildlife habitat, promote reforestation, and assist with the development of Christmas tree plantations.

To participate, landowners must agree not to use the seedling trees for ornamental or landscaping purposes. Please contact your local nursery for your ornamental needs.

The seedling trees cannot be resold as living plants (the roots must be severed).
