The Colorado State Forest Service is committed to helping homeowners and landowners promote healthy and sustainable forest conditions.

A variety of programs for homeowners and landowners exist through the Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS) and other natural resource agencies to assist them in managing their property.

Forest Ag

Eligible landowners can sell their timber and receive a reduced tax valuation on their forestlands.

Forest Legacy

This program encourages efforts to conserve private forestlands through conservation easements or land purchases.

FRWRM Grants

Funding is available for projects that reduce wildfire risk and promote forest health and restoration.

Forest Stewardship

Landowners can work with a CSFS forester to develop a management plan for their forestlands.

Homesite Assessments

CSFS foresters are available to assess properties for wildfire risk, tree pests and overall forest health.

Tree Farm

This program encourages forest landowners to sustainably manage their forestland for wood, water, wildlife and recreation.
