Governor Jared Polis announced awards for the 2023-2024 Forest Restoration and Wildfire Risk Mitigation grant program grant cycle. In total, the Colorado State Forest Service will award $7.2 million to 31 projects in 17 counties across Colorado.
The 2023-2024 Forest Restoration & Wildfire Risk Mitigation Grant application period is open from Aug. 16 to Oct. 18, 2023.

Today, Governor Jared Polis announced awards for the 2022-2023 Forest Restoration and Wildfire Risk Mitigation grant cycle. In total, the CSFS will award $15 million to 69 applicants from 23 counties across Colorado.
The Forest Restoration and Wildfire Risk Mitigation Grant Program helps fund projects that strategically reduce wildfire risk to property, infrastructure and water supplies and that promote forest health through scientifically based forestry practices.
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Wildfires are both natural and inevitable – including in wildland-urban interface settings where millions of Coloradans live. These fires can be particularly destructive in areas where forests are unhealthy, unmanaged and unnaturally dense.
