Colorado Forest Atlas

Wildfire Risk and Forest Action Plan 2020

The Colorado Forest Atlas serves as a one-stop shop to access statewide geospatial data and information related to wildfire risk, forestry and natural resources. Applications in the Colorado Forest Atlas can be used as decision support tools for developing new projects, writing forestry plans, assessing wildfire risk to communities, evaluating forest conditions and more. These applications are updated on a regular basis using the best available science and data.

Colorado Forest Ecosystem Carbon Inventory

Carbon Stock and Flux Estimates

The Colorado Forest Ecosystem Carbon Inventory dashboard provides an interactive platform to explore forest carbon dynamics at statewide, regional and county scales. Users can visualize and download carbon stock and flux estimates across various carbon pools, forest types and disturbances, with tabs offering detailed breakdowns by Colorado State Forest Service area or individual counties. The Colorado Forest Tracker provides a comprehensive resource of forest management locations across Colorado. The Colorado State Forest Service and the Colorado Forest Restoration Institute, both a part of Colorado State University, have partnered to leverage the unique expertise of each organization to provide the Colorado Forest Tracker.

Colorado Tree View

Trees in Cities and Towns

Communities can house and manage their tree data on the Colorado Tree View (CO-TreeView) platform. CO-TreeView is an online, user-friendly tree inventory and mapping tool that records the location, species and condition of the trees that make up Colorado’s urban forests. 

Forest Health Maps

Insects and Diseases

The Colorado State Forest Service provides the latest information on insects and diseases affecting Colorado’s forests through data gathered during an annual aerial forest health survey with the USDA Forest Service. The data are presented in both a searchable map and ArcGIS Story Map.

GIS Open Data Portal

Datasets and Data Visualizations

The GIS Open Data Portal is a public resource to search, access and stream authoritative datasets and data visualizations from the Colorado State Forest Service. Partners, Colorado residents and others can browse CSFS web maps, dashboards and datasets; stream layers into their own web maps; or view layers in their GIS software of choice.
