An intense hailstorm in May 2024 damaged hundreds of trees in Yuma, Colorado. CSFS interns completed a storm damage inventory to help begin the process of recovery.

Community groups, homeowner associations, utilities and non-profit organizations are just some of the groups eligible to apply for grants from the $7.2 million funding pool.

The new Rifle Field Office allows the CSFS to address forest health concerns and reduce wildfire risk in priority areas, such as the Roaring Fork Valley, the Colorado River Valley and the White River Watershed.
