Volunteers help extend the mission of the CSFS throughout Colorado. 2023’s Volunteer of the Year enthusiastically and creatively shares her knowledge and love of trees and forests with Colorado’s youth.

The Colorado State Forest Service has recognized Rose Banzhaf with its Volunteer of the Year award for 2020. Banzhaf has been instrumental in supporting the Colorado State Forest Service’s work with the Colorado Project Learning Tree (PLT) program.
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – This Friday, the Colorado State University community and Fort Collins residents can volunteer to plant trees on campus in celebration of Arbor Day, while at the same time learning about an effective way to prepare for the coming of emerald ash borer (EAB) – an invasive, highly destructive tree pest.
