The Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS) seedling tree program enables farmers, ranchers and other landowners to buy seedling trees at a nominal cost.

Trees for Conservation Program Update

The Woodland Park, Cañon City and La Veta programs have been combined. This merge brings Custer, El Paso, Fremont, Huerfano, Las Animas, Park and Teller counties under one program. We will also be serving customers in the San Luis Valley and distributing seedlings from our Alamosa Field Office this season.

Customers will be able to pick up orders at our Cañon City, La Veta, Alamosa and Woodland Park Field Offices. In order to improve program efficiency in this challenging year, and due to uncertainty over the ability to share facilities with other agencies, Westcliffe and Trinidad will not be available as pick-up locations this year. We ask these customers to please select pick-up from Cañon City or La Veta. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Distribution dates are tentatively set for early April for Alamosa and late April for Woodland Park, Cañon City and La Veta.

It is important to indicate on your order form your preferred pick-up location.

Quantities of many species were very limited this year due to staffing shortages at the CSFS nursery amid the coronavirus pandemic. Placing an order early gives you the best chance at reserving your preferred species.
